Our Team

Matthew Connolly, RCDD – Senior Technology Designer

When you pass the test to obtain the registration certification of an RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) at the ripe old age of 23, on your first attempt– your future is very bright! The RCDD exam is a challenging test to say the least and has a high failure rate. It takes dedication and commitment – two traits that define Matthew. Not only in Matthew’s personal composition, but with the passion he brings to each client and project engagement.

As our lead technology designer, Matthew runs point. His shoulders are broad and he juggles many aspects of the design requirements. From spearheading our Revit efforts to overseeing the specification documentation, he is involved – really involved. He understands the devil is in the details. His work has been recognized by several higher education institutions, corporate clients and other architects.

Matthew is a graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with a degree in telecommunications. He is an avid Notre Dame Football fan and dreams of owning season tickets on the 50 yard line. A four year starter on his varsity golf squad, Matthew is our “A” player every year for the annual AIA Indiana golf outing. He also serves as our resident studio DJ ensuring we have new tunes and perfect cuts for our listening pleasure. Lastly he is a big fan of local craft beer – did we mention the Broad Ripple Brew Pub is our neighbor?

Ed Stoner, ASA, CBNT – Acoustics/Senior Technology Designer

It is safe to say if there is device that generates noise or images Ed understand the intricacies of how it works. He has forgotten more about audio and visual than most of what the so called “experts” know about audio/visual systems, videoconferencing and acoustics. A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Telecommunications, this guy lives and breathes sound and video. He is our resident walking Wikipedia of technical knowledge and facts.

Ed is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and a Certified Broadcast Network Technologist through the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He leads our design efforts for audio/visual systems, theatrical planning and acoustics. In his earlier days Ed was an “on air” radio personality and worked in broadcast production. His acoustical work has been put to the test in various performance halls, auditoriums and other spaces that required the perfect balance of sound.

Ed is a car junkie and his collection includes a “mint” cherry red 1964 Chevy Impala. He is currently restoring a 1972 Airstream and a 1976 motor home for his travels around the country. He loves to cook and has mastered a recipe that replicates the world famous slider from White Castle.

Meri Weber – Principal

Every team needs that teammate that makes everyone else better. On our team, that’s Meri, managing principal. She brings stability and business sensibility to this collection of talent. Her vision is a unique attribute that keeps everyone focused on the task at hand and an eye to the future. She is a graduate of Indiana University and has developed a career around management and sales prior to joining forces with Design 27.

Today, she is creating client relationships as well as juggling project management duties. She lends her organizational skills and focus on details to project milestones and deliverables. She is actively seeking to strengthen our position with clients and partners alike. Meri also gets the big picture – financially speaking – as she works to ensure profitability and success.

An avid water skier and lover of all activities involving water, Meri would rather be on a boat than just about anywhere else. Her newest passion is to start her day off with yoga. She is an active parent of two boys and provides her time generously for a local food pantry.

Adam Weber – Business Development Director

Who knew that a flight home to Indianapolis from Florida back in 2003 would lead to the inspiration and passion we have today for working with architects as part of the design team. While traveling, Adam met a Principal from a local architectural firm who suggested he contact him once Design 27 was up and running. The rest, as they say, is history!

Adam leads the business development efforts for our firm and is looking to expand our work into other Midwest and Southeast markets. He has taken our work into various vertical markets including higher education, K12, corporate, religious facilities and others. As an active member of the Society of Marketing Professional Services he is continuously shaking hands, networking and looking for the right project opportunities. Adam is a Ball State University graduate with a degree in journalism and marketing. He has presented at numerous American Institute of Architects (AIA) conferences and chapter meetings. He is credited with the inception and development of the ongoing AIA Indiana Technology Symposium that is held annually in downtown Indianapolis. His enthusiasm and dedication for working with AIA and its members was recently recognized with the AIA Indiana Presidents Award at the 2011 AIA Ohio Valley Regional Conference.

In his next life Adam aspires to become a full-fledged resident of a quaint beach town called Tybee Island with his own charter fishing business. In the meantime, he is content in the land of Hoosier basketball and BRICS – Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station (another neighbor).
