Design 27 has completed acoustical design work on performing arts venues, public spaces, studios, classrooms and interior rooms. We can provide broad conceptual master planning as well as detailed specifications, depending upon the project requirements.
Our acoustical work ranges from a basic single room acoustical model to a large scale venue that requires the appropriate sound characteristics to meet the needs and functions of the space. We work in collaboration with the design team and client to assist with the appropriate space dimensions and configuration. Additionally, we work with the architects to provide guidance on the interior materials and spatial dimensions that enhance the sound qualities for optimal performance in classrooms, conference rooms, small meeting rooms, foyers, libraries and auditoriums.
Acoustical models can be developed for an existing or proposed space which takes the guess work out of the process. Our engineer has the tools to properly measure and predict the way the materials within a room, the dimensions of the space and the type of sound that will be generated will interact to affect the sound quality and ultimately the listeners’ satisfaction in any type of room or space.

Our theatrical planning and design services will ensure all aspects are considered and planned accordingly early in the process. This includes front of the house as well as backstage planning. We work closely with the designers to ensure the appropriate site lines are analyzed and delivered for optimal viewing pleasure. Lastly, we can provide planning and recommendation for the stage rigging systems, performance lighting and sound booth controls.
We provide the highest quality in theater design and spatial acoustics. Like everything else we do our work is vendor/manufacturer independent so the design and recommendations we provide are based on past performance and project specific needs. Our designers can prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications which can be competitively bid by qualified contractors.
